Why I Love Clickbank !

David Cooper

There are a number of reasons why I like the ClickBank affiliate program. The Clickbank Marketplace is an amazing program that allows you to generate revenue, which is included in their affiliate zone. This site is friendly, and resourceful, one that generates traffic, commission sales and runs by itself.

Clickbank also features a professional design and comes fully developed as a search engine. It is fed by the Clickbank's Marketplace of over 50,000 products and businesses. The Clickbank Marketplace offers an automated database update system and Clickbank cookie features giving you commissions on sales from visitor's for up to three months after a visitor has left your site!

The commission percentage structure is based on monthly revenues through sales from your Clickbank ID. You receive a commission rate form 5-65% that is determined by the partner site. This is one place where you won't have to sit around and wait for your checks because ClickBank pays you through faster venues (like PayPal).

ClickBank not only allows you to accept credit cards on your web site without the need for a merchant account, but it also provides other ways in which you can generate income. I'll highlight five different ways you can start making money with ClickBank.

1. Become an affiliate for ClickBank products

You can easily sign up as an affiliate through their website at http://clickbank.com. Take some time to "shop" and look through the full range of products that are in their marketplace for products that you'd like to promote. For example, you can start by looking in the appropriate category on products that you have a good handle on. You should find products that match up well with your existing business and that you'll be able to promote to your mailing list.

To promote a product, you simply create a hoplink, which is designed in the following format:

http://hop.clickbank.net/hop.cgi?nickname/merchant

All you have to do is replace the word 'nickname' above with your own ClickBank nickname, and 'merchant' with the nickname of the merchant. It's that simple. If you're not sure what the nickname of the merchant is, you can always go to their sales page and get it from their sales link which will probably look like this:

http://www.clickbank.net/sell.cgi?Merchant/1/ProductName

Where 'Merchant' is the merchant's nickname. Or you can look for an automatic way to generate hoplinks by trying to find it at the page below:

http://clickbanktoolkit.com/promoteaproduct.html

2. Sell your own product through ClickBank

There's no better way of making money online than selling your own product, and with ClickBank you can start doing this very quickly and with little trouble.

You can sell up to 50 different downloadable products through ClickBank with a single account. To become a merchant costs less than $50, rather than the hundreds of dollars it often takes to set up your own merchant account.

The best part is that you will not be going it alone either. There are literally thousands of web masters that sell their products through ClickBank. Some of these people include, but are not limited to, Ben Prater, Joe Vitale, Jeremy Burns and Jim Edwards.

3. Sign up your own ClickBank affiliates

When you sign up with ClickBank as a vendor, you can start recruiting affiliates to sell your product almost immediately. If the other affiliates are receiving commissions from selling your product that means YOU are making money as well. The best thing about this is that you can choose exactly what level of commission you want your affiliates to receive.

4. Refer new clients to ClickBank

You can earn a great deal of money just by promoting ClickBank itself. You can get complete details about this at: http://clickbank.net/reseller.html You won't make millions doing this referral, but it's useful as an additional income stream with commissions that can range between $0.05 and $10.00. When you are trying to make some money, every little bit helps.

5. Promote a ClickBank Storefront

What makes ClickBank's a great program is that ClickBank actually has its own MarketPlace. The Clickbank Marketplace is fairly limited in terms of how functional it is, but various companies offer a 'storefront' for all (or some) of the products listed in it. Also, each one of which will have your ClickBank affiliate nickname attached to it giving you even more exposure.

The idea is that you can promote your own storefront, get commissions from people who visit, and go on to purchase products that are listed. All of these moneymaking possibilities are appealing to all web affiliate marketers.

One of the most powerful link ups that I've seen so far is http://www.CBGold.com, followed by a couple of others you can view for comparison at 1stPromotion.com and ClickbankAffiliates.com. I guarantee that it will be worth your time.

What Is Affiliate Marketing?

Paul Colligan

Affiliate marketing is a new twist on an old concept – commission-based sales. At its simplest, it is a partnership between a merchant and a salesperson where the merchant rewards the salesperson, or affiliate, based on some measure of performance – usually a sale, but in some cases for leads or website traffic.

The first mainstream affiliate marketing system on the internet was launched by Amazon.com, offering Amazon "associates" the opportunity to receive a commission for each book they sold for the company. Since then, many thousands of companies have created their own affiliate programs, encouraging online publishers and salespeople to earn commissions through their partnerships.

There are many publishing and sales professionals who are successful affiliate marketers, but they are certainly not the only people participating in the industry. There are also many "amateur" affiliates – people who build a website, or create an online newsletter, or in some cases simply email their friends and recommend a product or service. In many instances, it's no different to recommending a particular brand or store – except that if somebody follows the affiliate's advice, they're rewarded for it.

Affiliate marketing may involve a number of different strategies and techniques, from building entire online storefronts offering the affiliate merchant's products, adding some form of advertisement to an existing website, to something as simple as making recommendations in an email and including a special affiliate link that ensures that the merchant credits them for the sale.

The growth of affiliate marketing is constantly increasing, as new merchants discover the value of increasing the size of their sales force by creating partnerships with online publishers. This is especially true of merchants whose products or services may appeal to a particular niche market. How better to become established within that niche than by working with companies and individuals who already know the market because they're part of it?

Understanding Affiliate Programs.

Author: Sylvia White

Years ago before the internet was born, starting your own
business was like taking a leap into the unknown. It involved
MONEY, TIME, and lots of worry. If you were one of the lucky
ones your business was a success, but many were doomed to
failure.

Now the Internet has evolved, and though many businesses fail
possibly through lack of understanding! no one loses a fortune.

When someone begins the search for a business on which to make
money, it is almost always an affiliate program that catches
their eye, probably because most of them say Free To Join. Yes
they are free to join, but if you are looking to work and make
money it is almost certain that you will have to upgrade and
pay a monthly fee.

Understanding the program. Any good affiliate programs will
have a learning process and you will be told to read and read
again until you understand what is required of you. You should
also have a mentor, that is someone that is there to help you.
He or she will reply to you by email or by messenger, they will
help you through any problems to the best of their ability as
your success means success for them.

The main task of most affiliate programs is to refer others who
will sign up and create your down line. Only those that upgrade
will be of use to you. Once you begin to receive commission
your monthly payment should be taken out automatically thus
leaving you free to build up on your commissions.

How to refer others to your program! This is where many
affiliates fail, the ability to refer is not always easy. If
you can build your own website and work to get it on the
searches it is a great help as this is almost free advertising.
Another way is to traverse other websites and place your ads for
the program on them.

There are many free ad sites which you will find by placing
Free Ad Sites in the search box. Always use a different email
box for this project as you are sure to get lots of spam emails
back, you do not want to fill your usual inbox with spam.
Another way to refer is by using PPC, (pay per click) this can
work out expensive but it does work, you will need a certain
amount of paid sign ups to cover costs. Google is the most
expensive but you can find many cheaper search engines out
there, Overture is good and less expensive.

Once you start getting paid signups you yourself will have to
learn to be a mentor as they are almost certain to require help
of some kind. Do your home work and read up on your program in
between your other jobs, it is surprising how quickly you learn
and find yourself able to answer their questions confidently.

You should now be on the road to earning an adequate income,
you must give your self at least 12 months before expecting
high earnings, it is a slow road but a steady one, usually with
residual income that does come in very handy in your retirement.

Make Money Online Opportunity Websites.

To Join or Not To Join An Affiliate Program.

By: Mario Churchill

Selling is one of the best ways to earn money. Actual selling can be difficult especially if you need to go to different places, carrying your products, and offering it face to face with your customer. Some are even a bit ashamed to do the actual physical selling themselves, because they don't want to be turned down.

Selling nowadays is not only done through physical product selling, but also through affiliate programs. Have you heard of that term before? If you're new on the net, it simply means selling a product or service through commission basis. But this involves online selling, unlike the physical selling that most people dread.

If you have your very own website, it is much easier to start an affiliate program. It is an opportunity that you must not ignore because it can give you a considerable sum of money if you just know what it's all about and how it is carried out.

Here are important things that you should know before you join an affiliate program:

1. The different types of affiliate programs; including the pay per sale, pay per click, pay per lead, bounty, and two tier.

Once a customer buys a particular item, you will be paid a commission by 'pay per sale'.

The 'pay per click' type pays you every time a customer visits the site, and it doesn't matter if the customer made a purchase or not, however, you'll earn more if the customers purchase something. With a PPC type, companies pay at the range of .05 dollars to .15 dollars.

You are paid a one-time fee only for each customer that visits the site; the payment is usually between two dollars to five dollars. If a customer signs up for application, the higher yield you'll get.

If you are able to refer a customer, you will get a finder's fee. If in the future the customer makes any purchases, you will no longer receive any commission, and this is called a bounty.

If you are able to make direct sales, you get a commission; and if your sub-affiliates generate sales, you will also get a commission out of their sales, this is called two tiered.

2. The benefits

The benefits of an affiliate program includes: all you have to do is to bring prospects to visit your site and you will not deal with people such as wholesalers, brokers, customer service, employees, technical support, process orders, warranties, and many more. You don't need to stay on your computer to keep track of the site, you're free to go for a vacation, rest, etc.; and most especially, you can do it anywhere as long as there is an internet connection.

After weighing all these things, it's time to decide if you'll join an affiliate program or not. Once you decide to join, the company will give you a URL or a link. This links are used to gain access to the company's website.

This will allow the company to monitor your website, and the payment or commission that should be given to you.

Affiliate programs make money, so why not join the force. The internet is just there, waiting for interested people who are willing to venture into different business opportunities. If you're capable, and can become an effective affiliate, act now and join.

Things You Should Know About Becoming a "Super Affiliate".

by Janice Sharman

Online Affiliate Marketing is a sizzling topic right now. All this is fueled by the fact that the majority of successful online entrepreneurs earn most of their money from Affiliate Marketing. It stands to reason therefore, that finding a super affiliate or several super affiliates is like finding the mother lode in a gold mine. It is the dream of every affiliate merchant. Why? Because super affiliates can generate a significant percentage of an affiliate merchant's activity and account for more sales than hundreds or thousands of ordinary affiliates combined. With just three to five super affiliates an affiliate merchant’s business will grow exponentially.

So, how does one become a super affiliate? How does one become rich marketing affiliate products and services? The ads you read on websites and splash pages as you surf the web make it all sound so easy. They make it seem like all you need to do is sign up for an affiliate program, post a few banners, send a few classifieds and watch the money come rolling in. Well, it is not that simple, especially if you are new to online marketing and haven't anything else to go on but those online ads and the instructions given by most affiliate merchants. Making it big in affiliate marketing is not impossible nor is it that difficult. It does requires a good education, research, work effort, and persistence!

There are a two vital things you should learn before jumping with both feet into the online marketing arena.

1. Have your own presence on the Web: I recently came across this quote which although somewhat dated, makes a significant point: "By the year 2001, there will be two kinds of business - those with web sites and those out of business." If you plan to succeed as an affiliate, you need your own website. The affiliates who make it big - the super affiliates – all have their own website where they can collect email addresses for their opt-in list. Don't ever forget that the really BIG money is still in the list. The bigger your list the more money you will make, period.

2. Control the traffic generated as a result of your advertisement: Never send your prospects straight from your advertisement to your affiliate webpage. Your advertisement should send them to your website where you offer your website visitors a valuable free gift, like an e-book, a free newsletter or free report as a way of earning their trust. If they trust you, or are interested enough in your newsletter or free gift, they'll join your list. Once they are subscribed to your newsletter, you can send them periodic updates to the products or services you sell, that you think might be of interest to them.

If you do not yet have your own website, newsletter or training course, you will not be successful in marketing affiliate products or opportunities.

The secret to becoming a "super affiliate" is to build trust by honestly recommending your products and opportunities in your newsletter, ebook or reports and, of course, on your website. The more your subscribers trust you, the more of your products and services they will buy from you and the more successful you will become.

The 7 Principles of the Successful Affiliate Marketer.

by Jim Guinn

There are certain affiliate principles that are common to all extremely successful affiliates. These principles are not plainly stated by these successful affiliates; rather, they are found as characteristics in their work, writings and interviews.
I have synthesized these principles into a list I call The 7 Principles of the Successful Affiliate. It important to note that each successful affiliate closely and meticulously adheres to each one of these affiliate principles.

Some of these principles may seem ridiculously obvious, but you would be amazed at how many affiliate marketers either...

-don't know these principles (failure to read and study)

-skip or skimp on them (take the easy or cheap route)

-or, ignore them altogether ("I'm going to do it my way.")

...resulting in their own failure or greatly diminished profits. If you are involved in affiliate program marketing and want to greatly improve your results, you must learn and follow these affiliate principles.

1. Successful Affiliate Program Marketing requires work. You must treat it as a job. It is not a pastime. It is not a hobby. It is not a get-rich-quick scheme. It is not a "do nothing, make money" proposition. It requires hard work on your part. The harder you work, the more sales you will make.

2. Successful Affiliate Program Marketing requires financial investments. You must be willing to spend money to make money. You need to spend money on professional training resources, affiliate products for "first hand knowledge", a well-planned and executed website, and solid advertising and marketing strategies. If done properly, your investments will make you huge profits.

3. Successful Affiliate Program Marketing requires education and preparation. You must tap into professional training resources. You need to read and study the proven models. With knowledge of these, you can replicate the success of others and increase your sales.

4. Successful Affiliate Program Marketing requires knowledge of the best affiliate products and merchants. You must closely examine the pros and cons of each you consider. You need to determine which ones will benefit you the most. Quality increases quantity of your sales.

5. Successful Affiliate Program Marketing requires a well-planned and executed website. You must satisfy your viewers and the search engines. You need to gain high rankings and presell your viewers with content-rich information. If you do this properly sales will increase.

6. Successful Affiliate Program Marketing requires constant traffic interested in your message and effective tracking methods. You must attract huge numbers that stay on your website to read your message. You need to know what methods work well and which are wasting your advertising dollar. Happy viewers from reliable sources bring you more sales.

7. Successful Affiliate Program Marketing requires ongoing familiarity with the latest strategies and techniques. You must keep up to date on the cutting edge in the industry. You need to never rest in your quest to be the best. Knowledge is power; power brings you more money.

These are The 7 Principles of the Successful Affiliate. If you are not prepared to implement them to the best of your ability, you are wasting your time as an affiliate. Do something else! If you are ready to be successful, make a copy of these affiliate principles and affix it to the wall right next to your computer. It will serve as inspiration and a reminder of what you want to accomplish.

Should I Start An Affiliate Program for My Website?

By: David Marc Fishman

With the limitless money making possibilities that can be enjoyed through affiliate programs, it seems like the answer to this question would be a simple one. So why are people still asking the question? Skeptics are wary of a too good to be true deal and others might feel that the extra added advertisements might prove to be burdensome to their clientele and viewing customers. While these are completely valid concerns, the evidence and the customer familiarity with such advertisements can quell these worries.

First of all, through blog and article testimonials, it is clear to see that people not only business owners are enjoying the incredible benefits of utilizing affiliate programs. Some people state that they are making their full income from such programs, while others report four to five digit paychecks they receive each month. Some even report SIX digit revenue paychecks! You CANNOT beat such an avenue for such little work!

Secondly, affiliate programs are now so popular that it is hard to find a website or blog page that does not contain such advertisement, i.e. Google AdSense, affiliate program links on them. This new wave of money making possibility has taken the internet by storm and it a program that has no limits. Anyone has the potential to join an affiliate account and the money making possibilities are endless.

One might think with so many people already a part of the affiliate program, how on earth can they hope to make any substantial revenue? The competition is too fierce, right? The answer is no. Affiliate program advertisements, like any advertisement will draw attention at some time or another. Even if some viewers skip some of the ads because they have clicked them before, this in no way hurts your business. If no one ever clicks on any of your affiliate ads you will not lose anything. The program is completely free and completely voluntary.

Affiliate programs like Google AdSense can even be thought of like an investment with a steady interest rate, but with a greater benefit, you do not need to invest any money to experience a monetary return. You simply need to invest a little time. You control how much revenue you want to generate from such programs. It is within your control because depending on how you advertise your website that has affiliate program links, you will experience a greater flow of traffic. Logically, if you advertise more, chances are you will enjoy greater traffic and more monetary profit. Work as little or as much as you want, it is your choice!

So the answer is yes! If you want an easy, simple way to generate added income, join an affiliate program. If you like money making endeavors with little to no risk of monetary loss, affiliate programs are perfect! If you want to find an avenue that will pay you even when you are not actually working, sign up for an affiliate program, you will not be sorry! And, if for some reason you no longer like being a part of the program, you can easily cancel your account. No risks, no loss, and only the potential to earn, affiliate programs are too good to be true!

Selecting The Right Affiliate Program.

By: Mal Keenan

Choosing the right affiliate program is vital for your success. We don't want to end up with lemons, right? It is not advisable to invest time and effort into something that will not yield the best return for the energy expended.

In this lesson, we're going to learn how to distinguish an excellent affiliate program from a rather mediocre one. Yes, indeed. Not all affiliate programs are created equal. Some are simply better than others. Here are some things you need to think about if you are considering entering the affiliate marketing arena:
How much is the commission rate being offered by the affiliate program? Ideally, you would want a high commission rate. Who wouldn't, right? But don't let this mislead you into thinking that a high commission rate is equal to a good home based business opportunity. An affiliate program that offers 80% commission per successful sale, for example, may also ask you to pre-sell products that aren't really sellable. What good is an 80% commission then when you won't have any sales to speak of? So this leads us to our next consideration…
How sellable is the product? You could always ask for statistics from the affiliate program. Don't forget that. You could demand to see the sales chart for the past few months, so that you'd know that there are people who are actually willing to purchase the product. We can safely say that an affiliate programs offering high commission rates for very sellable products is an excellent opportunity.
How credible is the affiliate program? There are many things that should be factored into this consideration. Determine how long the program has been operating. If they have been in existence for a long time with nary a complaint that can be seen, then they must be doing something right! Do a search on Google or online forums to check out other affiliates opinions of your prospective business partner.
How will you get paid? This may be a little too prospective a thought, but you have to ensure the utmost viability of any money making opportunity. What payment method can you accommodate? Will the affiliate program be able to oblige to such method? If the affiliate program pays its affiliates through PayPal exclusively, for example, and you're living in a non-PayPal territory, then you might encounter some problems. Ask the affiliate merchant if he could make some considerations for your case. More often than not, he will try to accommodate your request. If he can't, then your time would be better spent with an affiliate program whose payment you would actually receive.

If the above considerations are all favorable for you, then grab the said opportunity as quickly as you can. Start earning money right away, for time is gold in this business!

In the next article, we're going to discuss the proper steps you should take in starting out with this type of home based business opportunity.

Promote Affiliate Programs through Your Own Google Adwords Campaign

by Maxine Hough

Did you know that Forbes magazine has reported that pay per click ad sales are expected to increase to at least an astounding $8 billion by the year 2008? Pay per click though still unfamiliar to many, will be around for a very long time. One of the search engine giants to capture a lion's share of this market is Google through its Google Adwords service. A few ebooks like Google Cash and The Definitive Guide To Google AdWords provide basic and advance knowledge on releasing the incredible power of pay per click campaigns especially as this applies to businesses and affiliates around the world. Big businesses are still the largest group to benefit from incorporating pay per click in their advertising budgets but, home-based businesses and affiliate program promoters can benefit too if they understand how to use this tool.

Pay per click search engines provide a way for you to basically buy your way to the top of search results for any keyword you wish. Pay per click advertising works thru a bidding process, and your ads appear in the results pages of search engines such as Google, Yahoo, Ask Jeeves. With Google Adwords you bid on the keywords you want to focus your ad on. For example if someone were searching on "gourmet coffee", if you're the highest bidder for "gourmet coffee" you receive top placement for that phrase and depending on the search engine, the top 3-5 bidders for that phrase also receive placement on the first page of unpaid search results.

With Google Adwords the "ad campaign" is everything. When you sign up with Google Adwords you have unlimited campaigns at your disposal. I enjoy promoting affiliate programs and in the past I spent a lot of time deciding which keywords I would bid on to attract buyers to my affiliate programs. The only tool I use right now is Ad Word Analyzer which saves tremendously on time and gives me an overview of my keyword and/or keyword phrase as it was searched on the top two pay per click search engines Google and Overture (now called Yahoo Search Marketing).

Now that you've done your research and you've collected your keywords and/or keyword phrases, you'll need to open an Adwords account.

1. To do this go to https://adwords.google.com/. There is a one time sign up fee of $5 and your username and password are emailed to you.

2. Now you can log into the system and select "create a new campaign". Give your campaign a name that will also allow you to create multiple campaigns.

3. Before creating your first ad, I recommend that you print out Google's set of guidelines, ebooks such as Google Cash cover this area as well. Since most of you are probably promoting affiliate programs, it's important that you notify Google of this by simply adding "aff" at the end of your ad text.

A few tips to keep in mind:

a. To keep your ad targeted, make sure your keyword or keyword phrase is in the headline.

b. Put your keyword or keyword phrase in the text of your ad.

c. In promoting your affiliate program, make sure you're linked directly to the owner's website thru your affiliate link so that you'll get the credit and the cash!

Now you can submit your ad and start tracking your campaign over the next few days. If you're not happy with your ad's performance you can make changes such as targeting other keywords or increasing your bid a little at a time. Adwords is flexible in allowing you to make changes within Google guidelines of course, to make your ad campaigns successful.

Pay per click is here to stay and it offers a high level of assurance that your ad is reaching your targeted audience. With the proper management and a clear vision, pay per click specifically Google Adwords, can provide you with well targeted and economical advertising on the internet.

As mentioned earlier pay per click ad sales are expected to increase to at least $8 billion by 2008, with Google Adwords, the right resources and a little effort on your part, you can also benefit from this increase and find yourself with a significant supplemental income each month or a fulltime "leave my 9-5 job" income. The sky is truly the limit with pay per click.

When you are ready make money with affiliate programs and become a successful affiliate marketer there are a few things you need to keep in mind.

It All Begins With a Decision

Beginning any new thing is hard.

That’s the honest truth. Affiliate marketing is no exception. When you begin your career as a successful affiliate marketer, there are going to be times when you are tired and feel like giving up. It’s hard to begin a career so centered on you. You’re going to have to get used to making your own decisions, being responsible for your own performance, and ultimately balancing your work with the life that you want to lead.

On the other times, there will be easier times, when you are making some money and are completely thrilled with the work you are doing. It’s important that you keep those successful moments in mind when you are getting discouraged or are having trouble meeting your deadlines. Like anything in this world, you make your own destiny, and your destiny as an affiliate marketing advertiser relies on your ability to stick with it, through the good and the bad. Believe that you will succeed through your hard work and effort, and you will make it so.
Learn How, From Someone Who Does It!

One of the first things you are going to want to do when you make the decision to become an affiliate marketer and make money with affiliate programs is to get the training you need from someone who has proven they’ve been there. Affiliate marketing is just like any other career that you might be considering.

Take the time to learn up front, and it will pay off in dimes when you are able to hit the ground running. Affiliate marketing pro James Martell offers a training program that can be easily taken at home in your spare time – exactly what you need to make that transition from being a member of the work force to carving out your own path to success!

Invest in Your Business

Now that you’ve made the decision to be a success and are sticking to your guns through thick and thin, it’s time to get serious about making money with affiliate programs. It’s time to re-invest in your company.

Investing time in your company is easy. You simply sit down and get to work. What many people don’t realize, however, is that you also need to invest capital in your affiliate business to make it a success.

Ever hear of the phrase “It takes money to make money”? Well, that phrase has never been truer with affiliate marketing. You’ve already invested some money and received a training course, hopefully from someone with a proven track record in the industry. You’re writing tons of short, snappy articles designed to promote products for your websites and highlight your affiliate connections.

Now, how much time do you think you could save by investing in a good web writer? Professional writers are more and more looking at the world of affiliate marketing as a place to ply their trade and earn money. Finally, someone who knows how to write the articles you need better than you can (they are professionals, remember?) and are willing to write the dozens of content articles you may need for a single website.

Be warned, though, that you get what you pay for with writers. Top writers words come at a premium, but they will definitely worth it. Saving money in the short term by buying cheap articles may end up costing you a lot of money in the future when the sales start to drop.

You can be successful at affiliate marketing. There are some things you need to do to increase your chances though, important steps to ensure your chance at success. Making money with affiliate programs in a world where the internet is getting bigger every day, and nearly every company in the world can benefit from the increased sales affiliate marketing can bring. All it takes is patience, education, and of course, a little capital.

Internet Marketing Affiliate Program

By: Jeremiah Patton

When you go surfing the Internet, you probably have noticed that every website that you visit contains several advertisements and some external links directing to other sites. You will also notice that these advertisements are just attractive enough (for instance, an online advertisement containing heads of Osama bin Laden and George Bush in a girl's body and asking you to choose who is sexier between them) to convince you to click these advertisements and links and see what is beyond that attractive ad and link.

Once you have clicked ads and links posted to a site, its owner is already making money out of your generous clicks. They are now among the thousands of individuals who are called the great affiliate marketers.

The name of their game is Internet affiliate marketing program, and they are making tens to hundreds of dollars per month. Moreover, there are affiliate marketers who are making a full-time living out of Internet marketing and they are generating a 5-figure income every month.

Such figure is quite unbelievable, but it is the reality of affiliate program. You have the power of earning thousands of dollars each month even if you do not have your own products to sell. All you have to do is to promote the products or services of other affiliates. You are dictating the flow of money that you want and at the same time freeing yourself of worries about customer's issues, refunds, shipping, and other sales-related aspects. Just attract potential buyers to your website and redirect them to the affiliate link. Once they have purchased the products or services you have endorsed, you will be able to receive commissions from every sale that you have made. You will get paid depending on the percentage agreed upon on the affiliate contract. Basically, the commission that you will receive varies from 10 to 75 percent.

For instance, you are selling a certain product that is worth $67 and the affiliate commission is set at 60 percent. It means that you will get paid $40.20 for every sale that you made from that product. Remember that it is just on a single product alone.

Earning money through affiliate programs is quite simple, considering the fact that you do not have to create the best-selling product, compose the best sales letter to potential buyers, provide after-sales support to customers, handle concerns and problems, and others.

When you sign up for an affiliate program, you will be provided with a special affiliate link with a unique code that will identify if the click on the link actually comes from your affiliate link. You will just copy and paste the code to your web pages, and the promotion will depend on you whether you will promote it through sending email newsletters, online forums, and on your website.

However, despite of the simplicity in earning through Internet affiliate marketing program, the main concern here is how to be successful in your chosen affiliate program. What you need here is real people real people who will patronize the affiliate products or services you are endorsing. Once you have failed to draw more people to the assigned affiliate link, your dream of earning a huge 5-figure income in affiliate program will remain to be a dream forever.

To succeed in affiliate programs, you must be aware with the use of affiliate marketing tools. There are several tools you can use and some affiliate companies you are working with will offer some of these tools. You may use attractive webpage banners or online advertisements. These tools will help you achieve success in joining affiliate programs, so do not ever forget them in your priorities.

Remember that your main target here is to drive heavy web traffic towards to your site that will click on the affiliate link provided in your web pages. Promotional tools such as free article directories and writing weblogs are just a few of the latest additions in promoting affiliate sites. Provide initial yet useful information about the products or services you are endorsing for sale, and use the power of words to attract them to visit your affiliate link. In this way, you will be able to attract more potential buyers to your site and possibly give you the commission you are longing for.

Be one of thousands of affiliate marketers who have earned more than what you can expect by maximizing your ability and using effective strategies in your Internet affiliate marketing program.

Internet Marketing - The Answer For Your Business

By: Lee Smith

Advertising and marketing should be a top priority for any business and with the age of the internet comes the best ever way of marketing and attracting new clients, customers and internet traffic, based on targeted online marketing. Using an internet marketing agency or SEO consultants for your campaign is both cost-effective and fully-measurable via online statistics software so you can track every aspect of your marketing campaign

Pay per click (PPC) is a popular method of advertising for mostly larger businesses and involves bidding on keywords to attract users to your web site. These "sponsored links" are then displayed at the top positions of search engines such as Google, Yahoo and MSN.

PPC can and does work for many businesses, but unless you have a dedicated, sustainable budget, this is probably not the most cost-effective of routes. Click fraud has been a buzz word for a while now and it needs to be taken seriously before starting any campaign as this could prove costly to your business.

The preferred option of internet marketing for most businesses and for the majority of search engine users, is the "organic" or natural listings which are essentially free, but rely on the algorithms of the search engines to determine which pages and sites appear at the top of the list.

It is not rocket science to get a top ten search engine ranking, but if your business is in a competitive industry, it can be costly and you may have to wait up to three months before results are seen.

To get new business with a top ten ranking on Google, Yahoo and MSN you will need to have an SEO consultancy that takes into account Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), Search Engine Marketing (SEM) and a linking campaign to put a trust factor into your web site.

Once you get a top ten search engine ranking through an internet marketing agency or seo constultancy, you will start to receive enquiries, phone calls and sales only if your site has undergone a usability and an accessibility test, without this all your hard work and investment may be for nothing. You could have a top ten search engine ranking, but if you have a poor website that does not make it easy for visitors to take the action you want them to, you have made a mistake and you will have to edit your website or get your SEO consultants or your internet marketing agency to do it for you.

With a well planned internet marketing strategy, your website will benefit immensely and your web traffic will dramatically increase as a result.

Search engine optimisation is not a mystery, more of a strategic implementation of good search engine policies and practices to ensure your online business fulfils it's potential.

How to SkyRocket your Affiliate Marketing Revenue in 30 days or less.

by Michael Turner

Starting up your internet business as a member of an affiliate program is an exciting thing due to all of the possibilities and potential this industry has. By becoming an affiliate marketer, you can finally gain complete control of your financial destiny. However, in order to create an income from affiliate marketing programs, you must learn how these programs work, discover how to generate traffic, and ultimately how you will use these products to make you money. Now, if you have not joined an affiliate program as of yet then now is the best time to learn. If you are already part of an affiliate marketing program, you now simply need to learn how to increase your sales and revenue. Consider these following tips and how they can work for you.

Tip #1 - Email Autoresponders

Email autoresponders are great because they send e-mails and updates automatically to people who have visited your site and displayed some form of interest in your products. The majority of people that visit your site will simply leave never to return again. They might forget your address, what they were looking for, or any number of other things. However, if you use an autoresponder to gently remind them every couple of weeks about different products and services, you will convert those lost potential customers to actual customers. Of course, everyone won't buy from you, but you will increase the ratio significantly. However, be sure to only include individuals in your autoresponder who have opted to receive e-mails from you.

Tip #2 - Information

You need to make sure that you provide visitors with enough information regarding your products that they feel comfortable making a purchase. If customers have any questions that are not answered on your website, they will not buy until they do have those answers or will simply forget about it and move on. Don't let this happen to you. Instead, make sure you provide information about all of your products. Give your visitors a good overview that answers all frequently asked questions, provide excellent photos, and allow the product to sell itself. If you provide enough information you will also save yourself a lot of time answering e-mails.

Tip #3 - Increase Traffic

Another thing you must do to increase your revenue quickly is to get more links on the Internet that point to your website. The reason this is important is because the more links you have, the higher your web page will be returned in the rankings, and the more traffic you will receive because of it. Also, when you have links scattered about the Internet, more people will run across your link and pay your website a visit. You can have your link included on other websites, in forums, blogs, ezine articles, and basically in any part of the web you can think of where another website will post it.

How to Grow Your Affiliate Marketing Business.

by Jason Gazaway

Affiliate marketing is a large business in the internet today that involves a partnership between a merchant and one or more affiliates, in which the affiliates advertise or promote the merchant’s product and services free of charge until a customer is gained.

Then, a part of the profit received by the merchant from that customer will be given to the affiliate as commission. This is reason why the relationship between the merchant and the affiliate is aptly called revenue sharing partnership.

Affiliate marketing has also been recognized as the most ideal way for merchants to sell more products in the internet as well as for webmasters or affiliates to gain an income from their own website. Here, the affiliate usually gets a commission for passing on clicks, sales or leads to the merchant’s website. For merchants, affiliate marketing is one of the best internet marketing businesses. It is because in this business, you don’t have to take any risk; no payment is due to an affiliate until results are delivered.

But since it is already a widespread online business, you need to work hard to make yours stand out. Whether you are an affiliate, an affiliate network, or a merchant, you need to discover some secrets that will take you on the road to affiliate marketing success. And that’s exactly the reason why this page is created; to help you find out the big secret on how to grow your affiliate marketing business.

Of course, you need to work really hard to achieve your goal, which is to gain more profit out of your affiliate marketing business. If you’re a merchant, you need to pour much effort in order to catch the attention of professional affiliate marketers.

Likewise, if you’re an affiliate, you have to persevere in finding out some ways on how to increase your commissions. Also, to turn your marketing business into a success, you need to manage it the right way. Proper management will not only make your business grow but also make all the effort and time spent worth it.

For the affiliates:

So your goal is to make your affiliate marketing business grow and it exactly means making more money from your business and increasing your affiliate income, right? Well, there are a handful of ways to boost your money making experience online.

First, consider putting several merchants in the same niche; it will provide the guests in your site an array of destination to choose from. Through this, you can find out what your site visitors want and it can also help you discover the performance of different merchants when placed head to head.

If you’re not doing this before, try to do it now - involve yourself in chat rooms and message boards related to the product you are reselling. This is one of the smartest ways to boost your affiliate income. As you start a conversation, try not to sell first; do it later on if you already established a relationship. Bring up the product you are reselling and if necessary, mention the benefits that your new friend can get out of that product.

Indulging yourself in making a free ebook with advertisement and links to your affiliate website could also help. Make sure that the subject and the content of the free book are written to compel and encourage your target audience to download it. Also, consider submitting this free ebook to some of the numerous ebook directories. These directories can help you gain more customers as they are always in a hunt for fresh content for their readers.

Why not make your own affiliate program directory? This is also another helpful method in making your affiliate marketing business grow. It’s just like you’re having your own “search engine” within your website. You can participate in a large number of affiliate programs and have them all listed in a directory format on your site. After that, just advertise and promote your free affiliate program directory.

You definitely don’t have an edge over other competitors if you are using the same ads that all other affiliates are using. Make yours stand out by writing or making your own affiliate program ads. Using a unique and original ad will surely give you a big advantage over the other affiliates.

Then, try to advertise the product you are reselling using your own signature file. Have a catchy and attention-getting headline and give your readers a good reason why they should visit your affiliate site. Just make sure that your sig file doesn’t exceed 5 lines.

You know web ring, right? Join in to the one that draws the audiences that you think would be interested in purchasing the product or services that you are reselling. It will also allow you to trade links on your own with other related websites.

It is also advisable to participate on web discussion boards. Search in for those that are associated to your field and feel free to post your comments, answer questions thrown by other people and raise your own question. Under each message you post, don’t forget to incorporate your affiliate link text.

Make a free ezine or newsletter. You can use them to advertise the affiliate programs that you’ve joined. Don’t forget to promote your ezine on your own website, then ask your site guests to sign up for free. Submitting it to online Ezine directories will also work.

Starting your own private website can also be very helpful. You can use it as a free bonus for people who bought the product you resell. Here, you could allow your visitors to join for free and you could also advertise the affiliate program you’ve participated in.

These are just few ideas that other affiliates are using to make their affiliate business grow. Try it and see how it works!

How to Effectively Plan an Affiliate Site.

How to Effectively Plan an Affiliate Site Copyright 2005 by Shannon Herod

I was running out of patience and the hatred of it all was setting in. Whirling around the net searching for that one piece of gold that was going to set everything in motion and bring a windfall of cash was just a big waste of time. Thousands of dollars wasted and countless hours wasted with not one single return of investment.

That was the way that I started my business. As you can imagine I was getting nowhere fast. Setting up running and profiting from an Internet business takes more than just a web site, an e-mail account, and a computer. You need a plan of action, what direction are you going to go with your web site, what products will you promote, what other sources of revenue will you have, and many other factors will determine your success.

Affiliate Game Plan

I can give you a quick glimpse or taste of a simple plan that you can put in effect. This plane is going to focus on affiliate marketing in the arena of Internet marketing.

OK, here is a simple little plan but at least it's a plan.

The first thing you need to consider is the products or services that you will be promoting. There is a ton of different products and services available for you to promote. Finding the right one that pays is the most important part. When considering what you will promote you need to look at a few different areas.

1. What percentage does that product pay

2. How well does the sales page convert

3. Does the sales page have cookies and how long does the cookie last

4. What is the minimum payout and how often do they pay

5. How long has the Company been in business

6. What type of reputation and customer service does the company have

These are a few things that I consider when looking at a product to promote. Always try and test a product before you put your name on a recommendation for that product. Just as this you are going to open a brick and mortar business your reputation is very important.

Web Site and Hosting

Next you need to consider the type of site you will build and the hosting company you will use. Your web site will be your virtual real estate and you need to assure that is in a good location. You can find many hosting options by just going to Google and doing a search for hosting company. When choosing a hosting company here is a few things that I consider.

1. How much bandwidth do they offer

2. How much disk space do they offer

3. How many mysql databases do they offer

4. Can I host multiple web sites from one account

As a beginner those four things should be the only things you really need to worry about. As you become more experienced and building web sites and programming there'll be a few other options you will consider, but for now I think that should do.

The type of web site you build is going to be very important. Don't worry if you are a complete moron when it comes to HTML there are plenty of what you see is what you get (wysiwyg) web site builders available just go to Google and search for web site builders.

A simple direct response web site should be your goal. You do not need to worry about building a fancy web site with a ton of graphics and fancy navigation bars. That piece of information alone should take your fear out of trying to build a site. Remember keep it simple stupid.

A direct response web site is just what it sounds like. Your main goal should be to capture your visitors’ name and e-mail address. You can do this by giving away a free report that you produced or by getting a report that has giveaway rights.

Build a List

You are going to want to build an opt in e-mail list so you can keep in constant contact with all of your leads. To do this you will need an autoresponder to make your life a whole easier.

Your goal with your opt in e-mail list should be to build a relationship so you can offer products that you recommend. Once you have a list that trust you making money is very simple.

The Process of Profit Maximization

Now there is a process you are going to want to take your visitors through in order to maximize your profits, here it is in a short description.

From your opt in page you will want to lead your visitor to a thank you page that should offer some sort of up sell. Your thank you page should exit to the product sales page. Even will need to follow up with your new lead on consistent basis and offer information to help your new customer and occasionally recommend a product that you believe in.

That is a short version because I'm not trying to make this book just a quick little plan for you to follow.

That is a real quick plan of action that definitely need some more consideration, but hopefully it will get your wheels turning so you can expand on this idea to fit your business. There are many different things to consider like traffic generation and support but that is a whole new subject.

Do some research and try to expand on the ideas listed above. Your business should have goals and your goal should have plans of action. Put your mind to work, work up plan, and work your plan and success will be right around the corner.

Finding A Profitable Affiliate Program

By: Ruth Brown

Some people seem to get overwhelmed when looking for a good affiliate program to promote especially if they're new to internet marketing. Most new people online don't even know where to begin.

I know you're ready to make money online, so take your time and find a profitable affiliate program to promote.

It is important to decide what types of products you want to promote. Find something in your niche or something that you enjoy doing and find a product related to that. It will make the process a lot easier. You will actually enjoy the entire process of working with products and services you like talking about, plus it won't feel like work if you enjoy it.

Clickbank is one of the largest online marketplaces for finding products to sell. Once you find products to sell, write your list down, the web address and the title of each product and maybe a short description of the product.

The next step to take is to view the web pages. In Clickbank you can look at the number affiliates promoting a product. This is called the gravity level. If a lot affiliates are already promoting the product, it could end up being to competitive which means those affiliates are already ahead of the game. Don't promote products with high competition. In fact, I suggest promoting only affiliate programs that have 50 affiliates or less. As you're going through this process, eliminate the affiliate programs with high gravity because you'll be up against too much competition.

Now go back to the webpages, you decided to promote and look at each webpage and ask yourself these questions:

Would I purchase this product?
Can I trust the owner?
Are there less than two misspelled words on the webpage?
Does the page completely load in 30 seconds or less?
Are all the links working properly?
Does the owner offer support?
Is there contact information on the website?
Does the webpage offer refunds for unsatisfied customers?

If your answer is NO about any of the webpages, take them off your list. You only want to promote websites that look professional and perform well. I also try not to promote websites that have pop up windows, but sometimes that can be very difficult an you end up with no choice. The reason for this is because a lot of places where you will be promoting your products will not accept websites with pop up windows.

Another thing you should do is find an affiliate program that offer promotional resources. This will be a tremendous help, if you are new to online marketing.

Your list will now have fewer websites on it. Go over your list again and see how much commission each one pays. Eliminate the ones that pay less than 50 percent. The higher the affiliate commissions, the more money you make.

So now you're wondering, how do I pick the winner? Of course, you should choose the one that offer affiliates the largest commissions and start promoting.

Affiliate marketing is a great business to be in and can be extremely rewarding. So take the necessary steps by following the guidelines outlined here and you should make more money with less competitive affiliate programs.

Explode your Sales with an Affiliate Program.

By: Jim Pretin

If you have recently started an online business, you are no doubt facing the difficult task of trying to promote your website without sufficient capital to do much advertising. It is a catch-22; you need to spend a lot of money on advertising to launch an internet business so that you can make some money, but you need to make some money so that you actually have some dollars to spend on advertising.

To get money for advertising, you could take on a business partner who is willing to fund the company to get your marketing campaign going, or perhaps you could turn to venture capital to get started. However, unless you already have a lot of solid business contacts, raising money for an internet startup can be almost impossible.

So, what should you do? The solution to all your marketing problems might be an affiliate program. With an affiliate program, anyone who has a website can post an advertisement for your business on their website in the form of a banner or a text link. If someone clicks on that banner or text link and subsequently buys your product or service, you have to pay that affiliate a commission on the sale.

The reason why this is such an excellent marketing strategy is because an affiliate program costs you nothing. You do not have to pay to place your affiliate banner or text link on other websites because you are offering those other website owners a commission on every referral they make, but only if that referral produces a sale.

Not only does having an affiliate program give you an opportunity to make a tremendous amount of sales without spending money on advertising, but it also increases the number of inbound links to your website. The more links to your site, the higher your search engine ranking will be. So, a surge in your link popularity and an additional increase in sales resulting from an improved search engine ranking is a fabulous byproduct of having a popular affiliate program.

Now, you need to learn how to create an affiliate program and how to promote it. To create an affiliate program, you will either need to hire a web designer or programmer who has experience creating these sorts of programs, because they are not easy to set up. The job requires a lot of backend programming work, database creation, and payment tracking so that the referrals and sales that each affiliate produces can be tracked with a special code that is signed to each individual affiliate.

To promote your program, you will need to post ads for it on as many online affiliate directories as you can find. Some of these directories will charge you a small annual fee to be listed, others will allow you to list your program for free. There are literally hundreds or even thousands of different online directories where you can add your listing. The more listings you can create, the more affiliates you can potentially acquire.

I hope this information helps you get your online business off to a good start. The affiliates you recruit into your program are almost like your employees, they are doing your advertising work for you, and it does not cost you anything unless they make a sale. All those websites will be representing you, sort of like a commissioned salesperson. Just make sure you hire a competent web designer to do the programming work, because if there are any difficulties with tracking sales to your individual affiliates, you will have a huge mess on your hands.

Characteristics Of A Super Affiliate

David Cooper

It's one of the simplest ways to earn money online. All you need to do is become an affiliate for someone else's product, service, or program. Fill out their signup form and you're ready to start promoting your unique referral URL.

Now I ask you, what could possible be simpler than that?

Of course, you're most likely expecting to earn a substantial amount of income from whatever product, service, or program you're promoting. That, my friend, requires rising to what is commonly referred to as "super" affiliate status, something that is anything BUT simple.

Mind you, it doesn't carry any degree of difficulty. Merely a strong commitment to become the best - and most productive - affiliate you possible can.

So what tasks will you need to be proficient in? Following is a quick list of the primary characteristics that are associated with super affiliate status.

Opt-In List Builder

You've probably heard it a dozen times...the gold is in the list. Quite simply, it means that having your own mailing list is one of the most effective means of bringing in affiliate income. Not just initially, but for months and even years to come.

The concept is straight-forward...you capture names and email addresses of potential "prospects" (people who would be inclined to purchase from you), and then follow up with those individuals.

The only problem is, many affiliate programs merely assign you a standard referral page, one that can only be promoted "as is". So how do you capture names and email addresses? Simple...

You need to create a "pre-sell" page of your own. That way, you can include a signup form that captures names and email addresses for YOU and not just the owner of the affiliate product, service, or program.

Autoresponder Messages

You've got a comprehensive mailing list and that means you've got numerous prospects you can send follow-up messages to. GREAT! That's exactly what you want. But super affiliates take that process one step further by simply incorporating autoresponder messages.

The power of an autoresponder is twofold...
There's no pressure to create follow-up messages on the fly. They're already stacked up and ready to go.
The entire process offers an automatic follow-up system. Again, because the messages are already stacked up and ready to go.

Just by clicking on a link or filling out a form, a viewer receives an instant email message, one that is - you guessed it - stacked up and ready to go.

But that's just the beginning. Behind that initial instant message is an entire series of messages that the person will automatically receive. Naturally, what you place in those follow-up messages is entirely up to you. The only criteria is that they ultimately bring you more sales.

Ad Tracking Capability

You've created one or more specific and unique autoresponder series which you're using to advertise your affiliate links. You're also promoting through forums, ezine ads, pay-per-click campaigns, online classifieds, and even your own newsletter. That equates to a whole lot of different advertising sources.

A super affiliate makes absolutely certain they know exactly where a viewer comes from. More importantly, where their SALES are coming from. In other words, you need to keep track of any and all individual promotions and advertising campaigns you're involved in.

Without that capability, you would have no means of determining which promotion efforts are a success and which ones should be either revised or abandoned altogether.

Professional Writing

Ok. So you're not the world's greatest writer. But whether you are or not isn't the point. Every super affiliate makes certain that the sales copy and content - on their own website or within the ads they distribute - is top notch.

If they can't do the writing themselves, they hire a ghostwriter, someone who IS capable of producing content that is not only compelling but capable of producing results. In most instances, the only result that matters is how much money was generated due to that particular sales copy.

Don't think you can afford to hire a ghostwriter? The way super affiliates view this issue is pretty basic...the better the writing, the better the financial gain. So the bottom line is, if they can't write their own "killer" content, they immediately recognize the fact that they can't afford NOT to hire a professional to do it for them.

Keyword Marketers

You might not understand all the fine details of keyword optimization, but one thing is certain. If you want to run with the "big dogs" - those super affiliates - you had better learn and understand, at the very least, the BASICS of utilizing proper keywords.

Unfortunately, even the basics are a bit too involved a topic to cover adequately in the confines of this particular article. Below is a list of some of the areas where this type of expertise would be valuable.
choosing the right keywords for pay-per-click campaigns
optimizing web pages to generate quality viewer traffic
having the ability to determine which keywords to avoid
using keywords to help select the best affiliate programs
isolating product specific keywords

The more proficient you become with regard to keywords, the more productive you'll be as an affiliate marketer.

Market Researcher

When it comes to affiliate marketing ability, keywords aren't the only area you should concentrate on. Being able to properly conduct research is absolutely essential to any serious-minded super affiliate.

One of the primary benefits would be learning which products, services, or programs to avoid and which ones to become involved in. Also, it would allow you to determine exactly what audience you should be promoting a particular product to.

Traffic Generation

Having all the knowledge and expertise in the world won't do you any good if you can't drive sufficient traffic straight to your offers.

Not only do super affiliates handle this type of task with ease and efficiency, they are constantly on the lookout for new and innovative means of generating even MORE targeted traffic. If you hope to compete, it's something you absolutely positively must be proficient in.

There's one other aspect of driving traffic that every super affiliate adheres to. That is, driving traffic to their own website or pre-sell page and NOT the merchant's website. Granted, the viewer will ultimately get to that destination (to actually make a purchase), but they should always be strategically guided through YOUR system first.

Customer Satisfaction

When dealing with affiliate programs, it's easy to forget the most important ingredient...the customer. After all, it's the owner of the affiliate product, service, or program who ultimately handles customer support.

If that's how you view this type of process - you drive the customer to the buy button and you're done - you're missing the whole point of conducting business online.

Just like the owner of the affiliate program, your main objective should be customer satisfaction. Why? Because a satisfied customer is a "lifetime" customer. Not just for the affiliate product, service, or program, but for YOU as well.

Super Affiliate = Super Salesperson

I know, I know. There are few people who actually LIKE to sell something. But it's not the product, service, or program I'm referring to this time. It's you.

That's right. Just like any other online business owner, you should seriously concentrate on building your own solid reputation. In other words, you need to "brand" yourself. In doing so, you'll be developing relationships that will endure for as long as you conduct business.

So even before you think about selling something online, think about how best to sell yourself. Trust me. It's the highest amount of leverage any super affiliate can possess.

Personal Product Recommendation

This might be last on the list but I can assure you, it's THE most important aspect of being a super affiliate. Basically, the rule is...

Don't even think about promoting ANY product, service or program until you've personally used or tried it yourself.

Oh sure, you can easily fake it...write a glowing testimonial or recommendation based purely on the existing sales copy, but what happens when a potential customer asks you specific questions about the benefit you personally received by using that product? At that point, you have two choices...
lie about the results you've achieved
admit that you've never used the product

Either way, you're putting your entire business reputation - your all-important credibility - at risk. No matter how much you might be tempted, don't do it. If the product is good enough for you to seriously promote, then it's definitely good enough for you to purchase outright yourself.

And there you have it...the primary characteristics that all super affiliates possess. Follow their lead and I guarantee that in no time at all you'll be experiencing a substantial increase in affiliate sales.

Basics of Affiliate Marketing

by Matt Bacak

Whether you realize it or not, if you've been on the Internet today, you have encountered affiliate marketing. If you have ever “clicked thru” one site to order something from another, the first site probably received a portion of the sale. For instance, independent booksellers have limited shelf space for books. But they can offer their customers an almost unlimited inventory of titles by affiliating with companies like Amazon or Powell's. The more orders, the bigger the affiliate percentage.

Visitors to your site are interested in lots of things that may or may not be related to your product. But when you know your customers well, it's simply a matter of affiliating yourself with sites that offer what they want. What you receive is just a small percentage of the sale, but it adds up, especially when you consider that all it costs you is a link on your web page. And usually, the more sales your affiliate makes from your “click thru” traffic, the bigger your percentage will be.

The key to success in affiliate marketing is being able to track referred customers. As an affiliate manager, you want a system that reliably tracks what you want, with minimal effort on your part, and without affecting the performance of your site or server. Over the last few years a variety of technologies and strategies have been developed in an attempt to improve accuracy, convenience, and flexibility.

There are at least half a dozen methods, but by far the most preferred method is Cookie Tracking. It's popular because it makes tracking affiliate-referred sales so convenient, without negatively impacting your site. This system writes a small text file, called a “cookie,” to a user's browser when they click on an affiliate link. When you are the referring affiliate, the cookie holds your ID, so that at the merchant's order page, you get credit for referring the sale. One drawback is that many computer users disable cookies, although most choose not to, since their favorite sites require them. One bonus is that the merchant can save the information, so that even if a customer buys long after clicking through your site, you still get credit for the sale.

Affiliate marketing, at its best, is a win-win scenario. It's an easy way to offer your customers more of what they want, while you benefit, both in terms of building goodwill and making money.

Affiliate Programs, Ad Trackers, Link Popularity & YOU

by Russ Moore

When promoting affiliate programs, many people make the common mistake of linking directly to the url they are promoting. Yes, this can and will earn you commissions if your advertising and the site's sales copy are effective.

However, by placing your ads (and your affiliate partner's url) all over the web, you are building link popularity ONLY for your partner. This, of course, does YOU absolutely no good at all beyond the potential sales.

If you've placed their url in 20 places, they now have 20 links pointing to THEM... and you have NONE pointing to you. It's just not fair. That's allot of work, and if they go out of business, or change their affiliate link format... your links are DEAD.

If you have a site of your own, you are far better off to create a folder and use a simple redirect to the affiliate url.

For example:

Instead of... http://www.somesite.com?affiliateid

Use... http://www.yoururl.com/somesite

The index.htm file in your "somesite" folder redirects to the affiliate url.

Now with the same effort, you have 20 links pointing to YOUR site, and only one link pointing to theirs (the one in your redirect file). Yet your promotion still functions the same. The link gets clicked, the promoted url gets a visit, and you get paid if the site makes the sale.

This is a much better option as it not only increases your own link popularity, but it gives you control. If your new partner goes belly up while your ads are still floating around, you can change your redirect and point it to a similar program with very little effort.

Now, being the intelligent marketer that you are, I'm sure you are tracking your links... right? Of course you are. How else would you measure your results? How would you know if the ads you are running are working, or they are just a waste of your valuable time?

Since you are tracking ads, your affiliate partner isn't gaining link popularity from your efforts. If you are using link tracking software hosted on your site, YOU get the link popularity.

BUT... many marketers use an online ad tracking service, and in this case the ad tracking service get the links. And once again, YOU get the headaches if they close their doors.

Fortunately the fix is nearly the same. Now you setup your redirect files to point to the ad tracker, which then links to the url you are promoting.

Keep in mind that by doing this you will also have to set it up so you can tell which ad sent the hit by creating multiple redirect files (one for each ad).

Now your ads point to:

http://www.yoururl.com/somesite/somepage.htm
http://www.yoururl.com/somesite/somepage4u.htm
http://www.yoururl.com/somesite/mysomepage.htm

You get the idea, right? Good.

You can either use a different tracking link for each one or add a key to the link in your redirect so the ad tracker can accurately measure the results of each campaign (read your ad tracker's instructions for ad key setup).

Yes, it does take a little time and effort, but it's worth it if/when the affiliate program owner OR your ad tracking service decides to pull the plug.

Total control = no wasted advertising.

This is even more important if your links are in viral ebooks and articles that can circulate for years to come.

Note: This also gives you the ability to go back and add a page to grab the visitor's contact info on the way to your partner's site. But that's another article.

Affiliate Programs – The Fast Track to Wealth

Copyright 2005 Peter Dobler

Remember the day when you made the ultimate decision to
change your life? Yes, it was the day when you decided to
start your own home business. Gosh, I remember the anxiety
when I uploaded my very first web site, waiting for
something to happen. It’s like going onto a stage and
performing in front of a large crowd.

Ok, what has this to do with affiliate programs and how to
make money with them? Not much other than this is the
primary reason why people spending money online. Emotions
are the number one selling factor, period. And newbie web
masters are loaded with emotions.

When you started your home business, did you have a product
to sell? Neither did I. That’s why affiliate programs are
perfect for startup home businesses. In a nutshell, an
affiliate sells products from somebody else and keeps a
commission from each sale. An affiliate id responsible for
all the advertising and only gets paid whenever there’s a
sale.

Take a break and think about this for a minute. Every day
there are thousands of people online, searching for
products and ideas to make money with. They know that
there’s big money to make and they are eager to get
started. When you started your home business it probably
never crossed your mind to sell your own products and to
run your own affiliate program.

If you’re in the online business for a while with mediocre
results it is time to switch sides. Why should you carry
most of the risk with your advertisement spending with less
than satisfactory sales results? Not to mention that you’re
at the mercy of somebody else’s reliability to send you
your hard earned money.

If you don’t have a product to sell, go out there and
search for products with master resale rights. This will
grant you the exclusive rights to sell the product and keep
100% of the profits. Selling the product through affiliates
doesn’t violate this, because you’re paying your affiliates
for the advertising efforts, the final sale is still made
by you.

Of course there are a million products with master resale
rights available. Choose your product wisely. You don’t
want to start an affiliate program with products that are
already over marketed and maybe available for free or as
part of a bonus package. This takes some time and research,
but it is well worth the effort.

One source is to research the public domain sector and
compile your own information product. There are numerous
publications available on this topic. Another source is to
join a membership program that sells master resale rights
products. Make sure that they offer unique products and
check their rules. Many offer a trial membership, take
advantage of this.

Once you have your product start your affiliate program.
Don’t join one of the many services that offer affiliate
program services for a monthly fee. Here’s why. Having
thousands of affiliates advertising your product is a great
thing. Having thousands of free links to your web site is
priceless.

Create as many advertising samples for your affiliates as
possible. Have these samples point to different entry
points to your web site. Banners are the worst advertising
tools, but newbie web masters love them. They are easy to
implement. What do you care, you got your free link to your
website. Make sure that you use search engine friendly
affiliate links. Affiliate links with a “?” are recognized
as such. Better are the affiliate links that look like a
directory structure. The easy way to implement this is to
use PHP as your language of choice.

Guess what will happen after a few months running your own
affiliate program from your website? Your own web site will
skyrocket in rankings on any search engine, because you got
so many links to your web site without having a link farm
on your own. This is every web masters dream. Now you have
a choice. You either aggressively promote your affiliate
program or you promote your products. Either way you win.

If you’re still skeptical, go to Google or Yahoo and search
for links pointing to your favorite affiliate program.
Simply type ‘links:’ and your affiliate program’s domain
name into the search field. Make sure you don’t have any
blanks. This will return all the websites that are linking
back to this affiliate program. Check out the number on the
right upper corner where it says ‘Results 1 – 10 of about
x’. x stands for the total number of links. Now do the same
for your website. Hmm, you got nothing? Well, that’s the
difference. I hope you see the power of this by now.

Before you go out there and slab together your own
affiliate program. Do your homework and research as much as
possible. You want to get it right the first time.

Good luck to you all,
Peter Dobler

Affiliate Marketing Website - How to Direct Target Traffic.

by David Cooper

The World Wide Web is an incredibly large market place, and a very tough one for any business to survive in unless you find ways to direct target traffic to your affiliate marketing website. We're going to show how to target your main audience and bring them into your affiliate marketing website with a few cyber techniques that should translate into increased sales for your business.

First, let's define the term 'target traffic'. Much like shooting an arrow into the center of a target, your target traffic is the core of your customer base, the people who are truly looking to purchase your product if only they can find your website. While many visitors may stumble upon your affiliate marketing website and pass through it, not all of them are interested in purchasing your product. Weed them out, and what you are left with is your target audience, otherwise known as your target traffic. These are your true sales prospects, so you've got to find a way to let them know you're here.

Now let's talk about search engines. Search engines such as Google and Yahoo afford internet users a way to find what they are looking for. All a potential customer has to do is type in a few key words about the topic or item they are looking for and a search engine will provide them with pages of websites that contain at least some of that search content. Once they open up a particular site, they become part of that site's target traffic.

Upon these search pages, websites will be listed from top to bottom according to how closely they match the key words typed in, and how much related content is found at their site. Since online users typically only check out the first five websites listed, you want your website up in that top five. That's basically search engine 101. Now let's examine the two main types of search engines and how they operate in order to put your company in the top five listings and increase target traffic flow into your website.

Organic Search Engines

Organic search engines operate mainly on the keyword system. The key words a potential customer types into the search bar determines what sites will be brought up for their perusal. Simple right? This type of promotion for your website is basically free, so how can you use it to your advantage and direct more target traffic to your affiliate marketing website? Enter keyword articles.

Keyword articles are written about various subjects that pertain to a common topic, with a selected target keyword or keyword phrase strategically repeated throughout a certain percentage of the article. For example, if your affiliate marketing business sells ATV's, then articles about ATV's, ATV clubs, ATV trails, and ATV accessories would provide relevant information while at the same time using the keyword 'ATV' repeatedly. Post these articles on your ATV website, and search engines will automatically bring more ATV target traffic to your door.

You can further expand your target traffic by posting your keyword articles to E-zines that focus on your field of interest, in this example the ATV sport. Readers of these online magazines are already interested in ATV's, so getting them to your website should be a breeze once they know it's there.

Further keyword article exposure can be gained by linking agreements with other websites in your field of interest. For example, you might want to agree to a little sponsorship of an ATV club's website in order to have a direct link to your own articles and sales pages. This is just one more way to reach potential customers and drive target traffic back to your website.

It really doesn't matter what you're selling, just design your articles around your product, post them on your website, and submit them to E-zines that share your target traffic in order to increase your sales.

Pay Per Click (PPC) Search Engines

Think of this type of search engine as paid advertising. You and other online companies in the same line of business will bid against each other for temporary ownership of the best keywords and keyword phrases. The highest bidder will then have target traffic sent directly to their website when the keywords are used in that search engine, but you will pay your bid price to the search engine company each time the keyword is used. This will certainly increase your target traffic, and hopefully boost your sales as well, but it also eats into your profit margin.

Which type of search engine participation is best for bringing target traffic to your website? The quick answer is either one, but it really depends on how large your operation is, how much work you really want to put into increasing your target traffic, and how much you feel you can afford to pay for it. For large online businesses, PPC search engines are quite convenient, and a large budget may more easily absorb pay per click fees.

However, organic search engines are basically free. All you need do is come up with your keyword articles and you're sure to increase your target traffic. And if you aren't sure you can write your own keyword articles, there are companies with the expertise to provide well written, inexpensive keyword articles in the proper percentages to get you ranked high in the listings without getting you thrown out for keyword over-saturation.

Either way, knowing how to use and manipulate both types of search engines is a sure way to bring target traffic to your affiliate marketing website. The rest is up to you.
